Beware of LOAN SCAMS

Loan scams are usually advertised to the victims via social media platforms, email, SMS, or unsolicited calls. The scammers will claim to be from a legitimate and licensed money lender offering low-interest rates to deceive unsuspecting victims.
Don’t be the next victim! If the loan deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

Further information on licensed money lenders can be obtained at: https://www.kpkt.gov.my/index.php/pages/view/585

Beware of INVESTOR SCAMS

Investor scams are schemes designed to deceive individuals into making fraudulent investments with the promise of high returns or exclusive opportunities. These scams can take various forms, including Clone Firm Scams, and Ponzi Schemes.
Scammers provide fake investment advice through online platforms, including WhatsApp and Facebook, misusing and misrepresenting the names of public-listed companies, established brokers, and regulatory authorities. These scammers get their victims to invest their money, but the victims never receive any returns.
A Ponzi scheme is a type of investment scam where scammers promise high rewards with low risks investments. The scam generates returns for early investors by passing on investing funds from enticing new investors. This scheme resembles a pyramid structure, where the initial investors obtain funds, whilst the newer ones eventually lose as they pay the returns of investors above them in the pyramid.

An informed investor is a protected investor.
Characteristics of Illegal Investments/Scams

Be Sceptical of High Returns:

Be wary of schemes that guarantee high returns on your investment in a short period of time. For example, an offer that claims you can invest RM300 and receive RM10,000 within 12 hours is a clear red flag.

At CapBay, our investment opportunities are thoroughly vetted and designed to provide sustainable returns over a reasonable time frame. We do not make unrealistic promises or guarantees of instant high returns. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Promotion through Social Media Platforms:

Exercise caution with investment opportunities promoted through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Scammers often use these channels to lure unsuspecting investors.

At CapBay, we only promote our investment opportunities through our official social media platforms and websites. For your safety, please refer to our verified accounts:

If you encounter any investment promotions outside of these official channels, they are likely to be scams. Be wary of the following examples of potential scam scenarios:

  • Email solicitations
CapBay does not send unsolicited emails with investment offers. Always check that emails come from our official domain (“@capbay.com”) before responding.
  • Fake websites
Ensure that you are visiting our official website (https://capbay.com/). Fraudulent sites may mimic our branding to deceive investors.
  • Messaging apps
    1. We DO NOT have a Telegram account and therefore we do not promote our investment opportunities through Telegram.
    2. Our promotions are only conducted through our official WhatsApp channel: https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029VacyJCvEVccG0jjS0s40.
    3. Any promotions received through other messaging channels should be treated with suspicion.

Advertised as “Limited-Time-Only” Opportunities:

Avoid feeling pressured into making quick investment decisions. Scammers often create a sense of urgency by presenting their offers as “limited-time only” to rush you into committing without proper consideration.

At CapBay, while we do run campaigns with limited-time offers that typically range from 4 to 5 months, where the first one or two months will be for investors to deposit their investments and a 90-day lock-in period to secure their investments and receive their reward after, these campaigns are solely announced through our official platforms, which also include email marketing, SMS marketing, and WhatsApp blasts through our official WhatsApp channel: https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029VacyJCvEVccG0jjS0s40

Verifying Banking Details:

Before making any deposits or investments, always ensure that you are depositing funds into a legitimate individual or entity’s account. Be cautious of accounts that seem unrelated or unfamiliar, as they may be what’s known as “mule accounts”.
